12/14/13: Wreaths Across America

WOW! Long time no update.  Sorry about that, blog.

On Saturday, my mom and I volunteered for the Wreaths Across America event at the Arlington National Cemetery.  My mom found out about it through her work.  Basically, volunteers come together and put wreaths on every headstone, except the ones that have the Star of David on it, all over the cemetery.

There were several truck companies distributing thousands of wreaths, and I couldn’t believe how many volunteers there were either.  THOUSANDS!  It didn’t take too long to get it done–an hour at the most.  My mom and I grabbed at least 30 wreaths.

At first, organizers made everyone wait in line and handed us only one wreath, but then they let us just crowd the truck and grab as many wreaths as we can after that.

This is the second year they’ve had the event.  I’d love to do it again next year.

What? Why do you leave weird comments on my blog and mention me in your tweets?
